Where software meets radio.

Talks, field notes, and projects from a developer who keeps ending up with an antenna in his hand. Mostly ham radio, Meshtastic, and whatever I'm learning next.

About

Campbell Reed · KD9GEK · Muncie, Indiana

I've been KD9GEK since 2016, and a software developer for about as long as that's been useful. The two keep colliding, which is roughly what this site is about.

That collision looks like telemetry pipelines for Meshtastic networks, an Asterisk PBX on a 2008 netbook that reads the weather aloud, and a weather server built on NOAA broadcasts that works with no internet at all. I'm president of the Muncie Area Amateur Radio Club, and I built indianahamradio.com.

By day I finished a Computer Science degree at Ball State and am starting there as a Graduate Assistant in the CICS master's program. This site is where the talks, notes, and projects live — including whatever I've picked up most recently.
